Technical assistance in the area of special district administration is available through the department.
Department staff are available to assist districts with daily administrative operations including posting of meeting notices, open records, and compliance requirements of state statute. The Department also maintains detailed files on each Title 32 Article 1 Special District and compiles financial information as well.
Special District Contact Information
Per 32-1-104 C.R.S. Special Districts are required to annually (before Jan 15th) file with the Division an updated contact list. Additionally requirements of 32-1-809 may require special districts to have a web link from the Department's website. We have developed a form that can be used to comply with both the contact requirements and to provide a link for the Department to use:
Special District Map Compliance Information
Colorado Revised Statute Title 32, Article 1, Part 306 requires special districts to maintain a current and accurate map with the Division of Local Government. The PDF documents below are reports of our records of maps that have been recorded with us. *Note: Please ignore the "Digitized?" and "Update? columns. These are columns used for internal purposes.
Special District Map List
- List of all Special District maps on file with DLG and the date received.Special District Old Map List
- Lists only those Special Districts for which DLG has received inclusion/exclusion court orders since the last map was filed.Special District No Map
- Special Districts for which DLG has no map on file.* DLG has not specified a size for the special district maps. If the boundary and all text are legible, any size of map is acceptable.
These lists should provide information on when the last map was submitted and what districts may need to submit a map to the Division. You can review our Map Standards if you have questions on what is required or where to submit your map.
